    Reading through the Psalms

    During this period of lockdown and restrictions, we want to hear and read God’s Word together. Therefore, from Monday to Friday of each week, different people from our congregation will be reading from the book of Psalms. You will be able to find these videos on our church Facebook page or by accessing our YouTube channel, which you will find by clicking here.

    New Sermon Series

    A new year and a new sermon series, as we begin to look together at the book of 1 Samuel from this Sunday. God’s people need someone to lead them and they call for a king – but who will the Lord send?

    We’ll be delving into the book during this week’s online video, available on Sunday morning at 11am. In the meantime, why not take some time to begin to read through it and become familiar with the story.

    Important Announcement

    We received the news today that our in-person gathering for worship will stop for the next four Sundays, due to the rapid spread of Covid-19. This will take effect from this Sunday (10th January), and means we will be able to meet again from Sunday 7th February (subject to a review in late January).

    Our weekly videos will continue to be posted here each Sunday at 11am, with DVD and CDs available also. If you know of anyone who could make use of either DVD or CD please speak to our minister Ian, or any elder and we will ensure it gets to them.

    We are also planning some new initiatives during this time of greater restrictions, which we’ll announce in the coming days. In the meantime, please continue to follow all of the public health guidance and go the extra mile to look after family, friends, neighbours and the Church family.

    A reminder of our Call to Worship from last night’s pre-communion from Psalm 47, which continues to be as true as the day it was written:

    “God reigns over the nations;
    God is seated on his holy throne.
    The nobles of the nations assemble
    as the people of the God of Abraham,
    for the kings of the earth belong to God;
    he is greatly exalted.”

    New Communicant Members

    Despite an unusual year (to say the least) in church life it has been a real joy for us to welcome four new communicant members recently. Anna & Ryan Richards joining tonight, with Karen Dickson and Louise Demanuele (who we’ll get a photo of at a later date) having joined in September.

    We give thanks to God for all four!
