Relentless Prayer 2019
This year, we are once again taking part in the Relentless Prayer movement in North Belfast during the period of Lent.
We will be hosting ours in Alexandra on Thursday 18th April, from 12 noon to 8pm. Further details will be available in the next few weeks.
We are asking you to sign up for a 30-minute slot, when you would come to the prayer space and spend some time praying for the needs of our community, as well as a chance for some personal reflection through the Easter story in prayer. The sign-up sheet is available on the table at the back of the church for whichever slot(s) you hope to attend.

Connect Groups
Early in 2019, we will be starting up our new Connect Groups. These will be small groups of around 10 people, meeting twice a month for fellowship, praying together and an opportunity to study God’s Word together.
Our aim is to have the groups running at different time of the week (some during the day and some in the evening) and in different locations. To do this, we will need members to volunteer to host a group in their house.
More information about signing up for a group will be available in the coming weeks, but please keep in mind how you can be part of a group in the meantime.

December Sermon Series
For December, we will be starting a mini-sermon series looking at the Old Testament prophecies of Christ’s coming.
Join us, and invite someone to come with you, as we make space to think about the promises and the hope of Christmas. There will be Creche and Kids For Christ running during the service as usual.

Please consider making a donation to the Society this year. If you wish to have a collection card or make a single donation, please speak to Barbara Spratt.

Essentials Course
Our midweek resumes on Wednesday 12th September at 7:45pm in the McCloy Hall. Our midweeks over the next few moths will be using the Essentials material, produced by the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Essentials aims to help followers of Jesus reflect on and live out the essentials of discipleship. It has been developed specifically for the context of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, drawing on a wide collection of voices, insights, teaching and testimonies from right across our denomination. There will be a short video and some group discussion each week. If you want to think more practically about what it means to follow Jesus, please come along.

Buggy Buddies – help needed
Buggy Buddies is our Mums and Toddler’s group, meeting each Friday morning. Each week we have games, craft, songs and a snack. It’s designed to allow little ones to play happily and for the adults to enjoy a chat together.
Currently, we need more volunteers to help us run this popular outreach into our community. If you could get involved to help with this, even coming one week per month, please let us know.

Discipleship Explored
We will be running the Discipleship Explored Course in Alexandra as our next midweek series.
The course helps us make our way through Paul’s New Testament letter to the Philippians, involving a short DVD and some opportunity for group discussion each week. It gives us the opportunity to think about what it means to be a Disciple of Jesus in our world, our culture and our own context.
Each night will last for just over an hour and you are free to say as much or as little as you’d like when it comes to the group discussions. All eight sessions are stand-alone, so if you miss a week, that’s OK.
If you’d like more information about Discipleship Explored, then please speak to our minister, Ian, who will be happy to chat to you. Please think about coming along. Lots of people have found this really helpful as they look to grow in their faith.
